I grew up in the Chicago suburbs where I began acting at the age of 16, working with many theatre companies, including Steppenwolf Theatre, Bagley-Perkins Productions, Chameleon, and Milwaukee’s Next Act, as well as appearing in TV, made-for-TV and movie roles. I majored in theatre at Northwestern University, graduating with a degree in Communications.

An ASL interpreter since 1993, I have worked as a freelance interpreter and at all educational levels. In the political arena I have interpreted alongside Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Russ Feingold, John Kerry, Tammy Baldwin and Jim Doyle, among others. As an artistic interpreter I’ve worked with activist/performers Holly Near and Ronnie Gilbert, as well as Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, Alicia Keys, Sugarland and many others. I’ve also interpreted for the Overture Center, Civic Center, Fireside Theatre, and numerous theatres in Chicago.

I began my activism with ACT-Up and CISPES (Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador) and have been involved with pro-choice, gay/lesbian, health care and education issues for many years.

I currently teach ASL to middle school students.

All opinions put forth are mine as a private citizen.
