The great Israeli musician and peacemaker, Daniel Barenboim unites conflicting cultures in harmony and beauty. Together with the late Palestinian scholar Edward Said, he formed the West-Eastern Divan orchestra. It is made of young musicians from divided nations who are working toward the united goal of music making.
Barenboim does not expect to forge bonds of peace between these young Israeli and Arab artists, but instead creates an inspirational atmosphere of mutual commitment to music making.
